archive / Aboriginal rock paintings

While I was creating a wall paining for Sydney Biennale in 1998, I was invited together with Liza Milroy, Ding Yi and Julian Opie for a four-day trip to Kakadu National Park to see the Aboriginal rock paintings. With the help of our Aboriginal guides we were fighting our way through wild nature until we finally reached the hidden sites. To see these rock paintings it was like a mesmerizing journey through different layers of time as the paintings have been layered on top of one another through the centuries. ⠀
